Repayment of overpayments
If you received overpayments from the CNESST, you will receive a repayment request letter accompanied by a repayment agreement form. Then, you must follow these steps:
1. Fill out the repayment agreement form
Choose one of the following methods:
- repayment of the total amount
- repayment in instalments
2. Choose the repayment method that suits you
You can choose one of the following repayment methods:
- by bank transfer, at participating banking institutions (only sums due by workers may be repaid by bank transfer)
- by cheque, money order or bank draft payable to the CNESST
- Banking institutions that offer online repayment
Here is a list of banking institutions that offer online repayment of overpayments:
- Caisses Desjardins
- National Bank of Canada
- Scotiabank
- Bank of Montreal
You will have to send the CNESST file number for reference to make the payment. For more information about the online repayment procedure, contact your banking institution directly.
